Doodle Colouring sheets, and cards

I've been busy doodling again (or, still), the past few months.  Colouring books for adults seem to be all the rage in arts and crafts circles these days, so here are a few sheets of my Zentangle-like contributions:

I've added these for sale (as downloadable PDFs) on my Etsy shop as well:

More notecard designs have come out of this doodling phase too.

And again, some of them are posted on my Etsy site:

Cards

Some cards I've made lately (mostly with my doodled designs printed on scrapbooking paper), and a few older cards from last winter.

More Zentangles

My range of stitched doodles looks pretty limited, I realize - but I seem to mostly like to do these shell shapes for now.  In my other life as an aquatic biologist/taxonomist, I work with quagga and zebra mussels from time to time, and these must be inspiring the doodles.

Zentangles

The art of Zentangle has apparently been around for quite a while, but I've only discovered it just a few months ago.  Here are my first attempts at it.

My Christmas cards last year had a zentangle theme too.

Rocky Vistas

I made a trip to Colorado a couple of months ago, and came back with over 500 photos of gorgeous scenery.  Here are 2 photo landscapes that came out of those pictures, a series I'm going to call "Rocky Vistas":

Fabric Bowls - Advanced Class

Lynn and Kim came back again for an Advanced Fabric Bowl class, and I was again impressed with what they came up with!

Here's Lynn's "Vortex", viewed from different angles.  She used painted Tyvek and Angelina fibers as accents, and chose a very wonky shape to her bowl:

And here's Lynn's flower petal piece, again in her characteristic bold colours and shapes:
Kim's new piece, which she calls 'O'de to Lampshades, is very unique, with its beaded fringe and unusual materials (she used a couple of stretchy, polyester fabrics, instead of the typical broadcloth, and with very interesting effects).

Fabric Bowls - Again

In anticipation of new classes I'm going to be teaching over the next week or so, I've gone back to making fabric bowls again (it's been years!).

This is a piece I call "Molten", and it's a simple beginner's bowl, with straight darts and edges, and only slight embellishment (its size and dimensions make it more of a tray than a bowl).

And this one ("Orbits") is more advanced.  The edges are fluted, the darts are curved, and I've both cut holes and appliqued circles to the sides of the bowl.  After more than 3 hours of twisting and turning under the sewing machine, this is what came out (it's alot of fun to view it from different angles):

And this final one is a bit more traditional and symmetrical, in a fluted way:
